My name is Kim Picetti.

I was born in Oregon and moved to Nevada when I was 10 years old. I married a native Nevadan we have been married for 31 years.

I have been driving school Bus for 30 years as a driver for K thru 12th grade and I also drove school bus for the Nixon head start program.

I’m in my 8th years as a driver / Transportation Coordinator for Pyramid Lake JR/SR High School.

I enjoy family time, camping and traveling, I enjoy the California and Oregon beaches and spending time with friends.

I have a Dachshund Chihuahua cross her name is Chichi and she is very spoiled.

My favorite season is fall, my favorite food is Mexican, and my favorite color is green.

We all have a simple spirit with a reason to live it’s not how long we’re here at all it’s what we choose to give….

SHAWNA WOOSLEY

My name is Shawna Woosley I have been driving buses on and off since 1999, I started as a driver/ preschool teacher with the Classroom on Wheels program (aka the COW bus) for Story and Lyon County. I became a Medical Assistant at a rural clinic in Silver Springs NV. I went back to driving school buses for Lyon County.

I came to work for PLHS in the spring 2012 as a driver and in 2015 I became the driver /trainer.

I am a 4th generation Nevadan and my two daughters are 5th generation, my Husband is from Long Beach CA there for my daughters are desert surf rats.

I like to go camping & hiking and I also am an awesome quilter

JONI ELLINGTON

My name is Joni Ellington

I had my first job as a School Bus Driver in Los Angeles Ca when I was 18 years old. I lost my bus driver job at 20 ½ years old when the law changed in the nation that you had to be 21 years old to hold a CDL license.

That is when I moved to Carson City Nevada and drover a haul Pak Dump truck for the gold mine in Virginia City in the late 70’s. I then meet my husband and have been married for 36 years and have 1 son.

I just retired from Lyon County School District after 33 years. I was ask by a friend to apply for a bus driver’s job at Pyramid Lake JR/SR High School in August of last year after only being retired for 2 months. I truly enjoy driving bus for PLHS.

RON MIRRA

My name is Ron Mirra I’m from New York I served in the Armed Forces then I came out west. I have worked in a gravel pit and drove Semi Trucks, I also worked for Dominos Pizza. I have a dog and I live in Silver Springs. I have been driving for Pyramid Lake High School for 7 years I drive the Schurz route I enjoy the students. They keep me on my toes. I like to go four-wheeling and working on my corvette.

PHILIP MARTINEZ

My name is Phillip Martinez

I was born and raised in California.

I worked for 30 years with Union Pacific Railroad. I retired in 2006, moved to Nixon Nevada in June of 2006.

In July of 2009 I became a Bus Driver for Pyramid Lake JR/SR High School.

I enjoy the students they are a great group of kids.

WILLIAM CHRIS CHRISTENSON

My Name is Chris Christenson

I’m originally from South Carolina and lived in Connecticut before migrating to Nevada in the mid-70’s and moving to Fernley in the mid-80’s.

My previous careers included mining, mineral exploration and construction. Those careers have enabled me to visit, live and/or work in 35 different states and 13 different countries on 5 continents.

My wife and I have four children (two sets of twins) and three grandchildren.

This is my first year with PLHS and the first time I've driven a school bus. It's also the shortest commute to work from home that I've ever had.

I look forward to being part of the PLHS support team.
